My Story

Giovanni Marquez’s journey begins in Houston, Texas, where boxing runs deep in his blood. As the son of Olympic medalist and former world champion Raul Marquez, Giovanni grew up surrounded by the discipline, intensity, and tradition of the sport. But from the start, he made it clear he wasn’t just here to follow in his father’s footsteps — he was determined to build a name of his own.

Before turning professional, Giovanni captured national attention by winning the National Golden Gloves Championship, one of the most prestigious titles in amateur boxing. That victory marked a turning point — the moment when the boxing world began to take notice.

Since making his pro debut in 2022, Giovanni has remained undefeated with a flawless 13-0 record, including 6 knockouts. In 2025, he added the WBA Continental Americas Gold title to his resume, cementing his status as one of the top rising prospects in the super lightweight division.

Trained early in his career by his grandfather and now under the guidance of his father, Giovanni blends generations of boxing knowledge with a modern, technical style. He fights with grit, composure, and a deep connection to his Mexican-American heritage and Houston roots.
